Sunday, May 11, 2008Yesterday was my first time "tanning" at Sentosa!!!Unfortunately, it rained. Of all days it had to be yesterday. We headed there anyhow, hoping to get a LITTLE bit darker, but to no avail. At least i didn't turn the least bit darker, only more freckles. =( We headed to Tanjong beach cause we wanted to stay away from the crowd. If you've been there before you would know there's a beach bar there called KM8. They had like many wooden tanning beds etc, being first-timers we weren't sure whether we could just lie there(well common sense told us we had to buy something from them) but we just decided to give it a shot. Sure enough, their stuff approached us. We took some time to discuss what to get cause their stuff was really quite expensive. Decided on some snack called potato cheese balls ($10.20) and here comes the part that sort of made me a little displeased. The staff actually gave us a bit of the "my god, can't afford just get out" kind of feel. Which was rather disappointing. I mean I know it's a little cheapskate to have 3 people there but only order potato cheese ball and I seriously won't bother about her attitude IF I wasn't going to pay SERVICE CHARGE. It amounted to $11.80. Roughly $0.80 for a mini ball. The food was quite good I must admit but I definitely didn't feel the service charge was worth it. Anyways, we didn't stay long cause 2 of our guy friends joined us a while later so being the shy and conservative us(2 out of 3 of us), we put on our top and headed elsewhere since we could not eat outside food there(which was reasonable). OK, I know it might sound a LITTLE ridiculous whatever I just complained about but honestly, I AM a mountain tortoise so meeting this kind of service was really quite a let-down. We didn't want to lie on the sand as we didn't bring sufficient changing clothes and the sand was still pretty wet from the morning rain. We had quite a bit of fun playing volley but all the girls' hands are bruised. I would love to head down again sometime but this time, SPF50 on my face and hopefully tanning lotion on my body. Haha Headed to Kim Gary for dinner around 5, the food wasn't too bad. Price not very cheap but its alright. Went to Sasa for a free eyebrow trimming as part of our "walk about to digest", then ended the day with desert at haigan daz. Manage to surprise her with a candle on the desert and a bunch of very enthusiastic staff at Haigan Daz. They actually gathered round to sing "Happy Birthday" with us. Really appreciated that. =) After that, it was... PACK PACK PACK + MAD RUSH!!!! Moving out is seriously CRAZY. Minimalistic is going to be my main focus when I move in next sem but I seriously think... I'll lost focus. HAHA... Today is MOTHERS' DAY!!! So HAPPY MAMAS' DAY!!!! Had a great feast at my grands just now. We had popiah, sushi and fruit party!!! Couldn't help but stuff myself with popiah. It was absolutely LOVELY!!! Had like 4? =X And to think that I actually had a whole set lunch at Han's Bakery in the afternoon. After feasting so many days in a row, its no wonder my grandpa said I gained weight. Hahaha... Oh, and my sis did the sweetest thing! She actually wrote in to The Straits Times for a short description of our Mum and it was published! In the Classifieds!!! =D Really happy it was published. Alright, that ends my day. Now back to some stuff that's been on my mind for some time. Being the oldest child, I never really reflected how my words or actions actually affected my siblings because after all, we're seperate human beings. But after being in hall and talking to friends who are the middle or youngest child, I suddenly realise how much damage I've done to my relationship with my siblings. I always use hurtful words and bully my sister when I was younger and ignorant about such stuff, and now that I've come to learn about it, I'm trying to change but I'm facing 2 set-backs- 1. my sis has suffered too much damage such that everything she says has become hurting and intolerable. 2. its a BAD habit that is really hard for me to change esp when she says things that are extremely hurting and unkind. And her intolerable mannerisms which i feel like stangling her about(which I'm sure she feels the same). I really hope I can find a book that'll slowly open her up. Our relationships between the family really isn't good and I feel terrible about it. I just hope that someday I am able to change myself into a better and more patient person and hopefully be able to heal the wounds I've inflicted unto her. Pray for me yeah! =) Well, shall end here. Take care everybody!!! *hugZz* Friday, May 09, 2008FINALLY. LIBERATION!!!HAHAHAHA The exams are finally over!!! It seemed like this sem's exam was super draggy maybe cause I had like a week to study for my last paper? And perhaps cause everyone finished already and started moving out which made things worse. Hope Rachel lasts till Sat. =) But after the exam yesterday, it really seemed as though all my hard work went down the drain. =( Never mind, at least its over. YES!! hahaha... Going to make sushi later! whee! My room's more or less cleared, so now I'm slacking cause I don't seem to be able to sleep. Slept only for 4 hours plus last night. Had to wake up this morning to fry the egg to be used for making sushi and I was going to take a lift from my dad so I had to finish cooking before 6. Anyways, it was my first time frying this "rolled" egg and adding the extra ingredients like sesame oil, and pepper and the sweet black sauce. Sadly, my mum woke up and told me it was suppose to be light soya sauce. So my egg isn't exactly yellow. =X Anyways, I was suppose to wkae her up to help me but I couldn't bear to do so thus my self experimentation. ARGH. Just hope the other don't mind. =X Shall end here I guess. Ciao! Friday, May 02, 2008Hi everyone!!!First I want to congragulate the NTU, SIM & SMU(?) friends who've successfully pulled through another round of exams!! Time to play!!! YEAH! And second, to all my NUS pals who have another week to go... JIA YOU MAN!!! Time flies and we'll be done in no time! =) Well, I'm not blogging cause I've got no more papers. I've got 1 last paper the coming Thurs actually but it's econometrics so I need my calculator to study but currently, I've loaned my calculator to rachel whose having her biz stats exam. So ya, can't really do much, thus I decided to blog. It's been a really tiring 2 weeks of studying, but I'm really glad that I feel a little more prepared than I was last semester, although I don't think I'll do as well because my mid-sem tests were really badly done. I just hope with this 6-7 days I have to study econometrics that I will put it to full use and not slack too much. Finally going home after 2 weeks!!! Can't wait to eat home dinner again. =) But it isn't all rest and relax, got to mug hard for my econometrics paper as well. Going to move some stuff home today as well. Today marks round 1 of moving out. Haha... Took my short break yesterday when I went out with kr for lunch at Vivo. We ate at Terra Cafe then headed to Ben's & Jerry's for more desert. Sinful. Haha. Thought I'd be more energized when I come back so I can study but no... all the food made me really sleepy. =( Anyways, I miraculously slept through last night undisrupted until some noise woke me up this morning. Thank goodness for the noise otherwise I might not have woken up in time to wake rachel. Kinda forgot to set the alarm. =S So, as you can tell, I'm just trying to kill time cause my calculator won't return in the next 2 hours or so. =X I want to borrow but seems like my neighbours aren't in. Hm... shall wait to spot some people online to borrow from them. =) Oh, and this is the first time in all my exams that I eat chocolates before every paper. Scary huh... Tell me about it. But it makes me happy lar, so its alright. I don't mind having this habit. HAHAHA. Alright, think I better end here. I think loads of things happened which I really wanted to blog about but I can't seem to recall any. My memory cells decided to go on leave. Hahaha... I really look forward to meeting all my ex-classmates, good friends and BESTIES!!! Meanwhile, take care everyone! Stay happy every moment of the day! =) |
